Point Reyes
The other weekend, I got the chance to experience Point Reyes National Seashore for the first time. This was my first time shooting Kodak Ektar 100 and the lady at the camera store recommended I save it for something special. This seemed like the perfect occasion. Shot at ISO 400, I took the film out to the seashore.
Our first stop was Drake's Beach, a recommendation from a friend who described it as being similar to the coast of Ireland. The views did not disappoint. The beach was empty for a Saturday afternoon, except for a few student researchers and engagement photographers. After walking along the beach we hiked up some of the coast. and got some amazing views of the ocean. Last but not least on this beach was a pair of seals mating. Ah nature...
Next up, we headed to the Point Reyes Lighthouse. This location was a bit more crowded and we arrived at the top of the staircas to the lighthouse at 4:29. The state park trouper was kind enough to let us run down before the gates shut at 4:30. The view at the bottom of the staircase revealed even more views of foamy waves.
