On a three day weekend, my friends and I ventured east of Sacramento to Lake Tahoe. None of us had been before. The weather in May was chilly and rainy, which created some of the most picturesque, moody landscapes. The scenery was breathtaking and pictures can't do it justice.

A few of the spots we visited
